invisibilia

I contributed this track in response to one of the weekly Disquiet prompts. If you are unfamiliar with the Disquiet Junto Project, I invite you to learn more about this wonderful weekly creative project and equally amazing artist community (disquiet.com). This track was an answer to the prompt:

“Consider how many concert posters have spent time on an old telephone pole before being torn down or succumbing to the elements. Think about the wear on the wood, the rust on the vestigial staples, as time has passed.”

My track, “invisibilia” answers this in this way:

The ghost of chords, the long tail of echoes, the inherent mystery in collaged sonic textures, all merging to create the timelessness of sound.

Because this track was created as the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic escalated to new heights, and daily life transformed to “shelter at home,” “social distancing,” and “self-quarantining”; it would be foolish to think that this new way of being was not also “in the mix” of this track. The title of the track, “invisibilia” reflects this reality—“invisibilia” is Latin for “invisible things.” This track is released during a time, a moment, that is being defined by “invisible things.”
